What is Give Green Day?
We want to hear from you! Give Green Day’s tagline is “Appreciate. Participate. Celebrate!” so tell us why you support and appreciate WRA by sharing your love on social media. Tell us your story! Who impacted you? How did Reserve make a difference in your life? Share a throwback photo of your WRA crew. Tag us @WesternReserveAcademy on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn and @WRApioneers on Twitter to help spread the word and motivate others to give back on March 7 as well. Can my gift count for two or three challenges?
Yes, it’s possible! If a challenge is running simultaneously with another, your gift will “counted” in both scenarios, thereby maximizing your gift matches. This is especially true for alumni who are also current parents or faculty members; or alumni class years that overlap among certain challenge situations. Just be sure to add your “affiliations” (alumni +year, faculty/staff, current parent + year) when prompted within the gift form. Forgot to add an affiliation? What can I do to help spread the word?
The groundswell of support on this special day is thanks to a number of social media ambassadors (alumni, parents, faculty and friends) who build excitement and help spread the word via social media, text, email and/or calls. Why is there a supporter goal of 451 donors?
Each Give Green Day, our community has raised the bar! Last year, 450 donors stepped up in support of this special day of giving which was 10 more than the year before. We love all the feels!
Where do I get my swag?

Why does WRA need to raise money?
Tuition accounts for 68% of WRA’s annual operating budget. Like other private schools, the remainder is funded by philanthropic gifts supporting the endowment and the annual fund (The WRA Fund). While endowment provides long-term financial stability for the school, The WRA Fund is the foundation of fundraising efforts, providing immediate resources that directly impact the educational experiences for our current students. The WRA Fund specifically supports 10% of the total operating budget which essentially translates to $6,826 per student!
Why does my participation matter?
While leadership level support is incredibly important to the continued growth of the school, participation by as many members of the community as possible is critical. The number of participants in The WRA Fund is a “vote of confidence” in the direction of the school and your belief in a WRA education. Making a gift to The WRA Fund is a sign of trust in the Academy and conveys enthusiasm. Please know that every dollar contributed to the Fund will immediately and positively impact the successes and experiences of WRA students and faculty. Also, the collective impact of gifts is significant. Last year for example, gifts up to $100 totaled over $38,000.

Give Green Day coincides with Giving and Gratitude Week (March 4 - March 8), formerly Philanthropy Week, which is a time for WRA students, faculty and staff to celebrate and build upon the culture of philanthropy at Reserve. The students thank donors, and the senior class makes their first gift to the school. The students also show their WRA spirit, this year, wearing fun Reserve socks! Give Green Day is the community’s day to join the senior class in honoring the generosity that built WRA by participating in an annual day of giving.
